I have chosen software developer as my intended job because it allows me to learn something completely new and will allow me to keep web development as a hobby. Both fields have a good job outlook and are continuing to grow every year. The good news about software developers is that they are needed everywhere. Companies need people to either make new applications/systems or maintain a current system or application.
